Grace Kewl-Durfey joined the Cultural Division in 2003 and is responsible for Arts Education Programs and Partnerships and manages the Community Arts Education Partnerships Grant Program. Ms. Kewl-Durfey’s responsibilities also include managing Public Art and Design projects, legislative assistance and serving as staff liaison to the following Cultural Division committees: Arts Education; Cultural Diplomacy Partnerships; Advocacy; 2020 Community Cultural Plan; and Business for the Arts of Broward Education Committee.
Ms. Kewl-Durfey has a professional background in community and neighborhood development, and non-profit organizational management. She is strongly dedicated to the advancement of arts and culture, civic engagement, and youth development through community service and in 2010 founded a non-profit organization that serves to support the socioeconomic and educational advancement of at-risk and underserved individuals and neighborhoods. Her extensive service history includes five years as an arts and entertainment mentor for the YMCA Multi-Cultural Achievers program; and seven years of development advisory services for individuals and start up organizations. Ms. Kewl-Durfey has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University, credits towards a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Florida Atlantic University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Studies from Union Institute and University.
