Last week PC World Magazine recognized FLL as one of the country’s “Techiest Airports”. Broward County’s own FLL ranked 11th overall among the 40 busiest airports in the country for high tech amenities. Recently, PC World spent a day at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport testing Wi-Fi, cellular coverage, electrical outlet availability, etc. FLL ranked first in cell coverage, third in Wi-Fi, and eighth in tech-friendly terminals.
Passengers in Terminal 3 will notice significant improvements. The changes are for passenger safety and to enhance the overall customer experience. The escalators have been replaced and relocated from the middle to the front of the terminal providing space for relocating the two checkpoints. The new checkpoint at Concourse F recently opened with an added screening lane and larger queuing area. This should help with the flow of passengers. The upgraded checkpoint at Concourse E and post security concessions are schedule to open in early 2013.
Improvements for Concourses E and F scheduled for next year include replacing carpeting with terrazzo flooring and new seating in the gate waiting area.

Thomas Cook Canada now offers flights from FLL to Canada’s Pearson International Airport. The weekend flights are available through April.
