 FLL
anticipates a 7.7% increase in available seats during the first quarter
of 2011 over the same period last year. This positions FLL as the number
one airport in Florida for growth and fourth in the U.S. Only Reagan
National, Charlotte, and La Guardia Airports ranked higher in growth in
the U.S (according to published airline schedules).
Beginning
in November 2010, FLL will offer new or increased nonstop service to 46
domestic and international destinations for the winter of 2010-11.
Travelers will find more flights and/or additional seats on more days to
these destinations. By January 2011, when the airlines fully implement
the increased schedule, there will be an additional 6,200 roundtrip seats
per day.
Airlines
at FLL fly nonstop to more U.S. cities than any other airport in South
Florida. Travelers will find FLL offers some of the lowest fares in South
Florida with over 300 daily departures to more than 100 destinations in
the U.S., Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean.

 On
Monday, November 1, 2010, JetBlue Airways began new service from Fort
Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Ronald Reagan
Washington National Airport (DCA).
Passengers were treated to refreshments at the gate and a water
salute as the aircraft taxied to the runway. For additional

 Colorscapes, an exhibition by artist Rosanna Saccoccio, recently opened at FLL’s Lee Wagener Art
Gallery. The gallery is located in Terminal 2, Departure Level. Saccoccio’s paintings include nine artworks with acrylic
on canvas. Saccoccio says, “It’s not my
intention to copy nature or to represent landscapes, but through color
and form, my intent is to express the emotion inspired by nature.”
The Lee Wagener Art Gallery offers
Broward County artists an opportunity to exhibit their work. The Broward
County Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program selects artists
for the gallery. The far end of the gallery contains an exhibition of
video artworks from Broward County’s permanent art collection. For additional information: Please

On Thursday, October 28, during a news conference at FLL, Spirit Airlines
announced it would begin offering service to Dallas, Texas, Charleston,
WV, Latrobe, Penn., Niagara Falls and Plattsburgh
N.Y. in the coming months. For passengers that is great news.
American Airlines already offers non-stop service to Dallas and Allegiant
Airlines already serves Plattsburgh. The other three cities are new
destinations and until Spirits announcement were unserved.

 Travelers
walking between terminals on the upper Departure level won’t have to
worry about the sun or rain soon. Crews began installing canopies between
Terminals 3 and 4 in late October to replace the original canopies that
were destroyed during Hurricane Wilma.
The photo above shows the first phase of installation. The next
phase will involve securing the fabric tightly to the steel structure.
The project involves replacing all the canopy fabric and minor structural
elements. The canopies between Terminals 2 and 3 are scheduled to be
installed before the end of the year.
