Dawn RobinsonEvents Coordinator
Broward’s Centennial Celebration

 Dawn Robinson comes to Broward Cultural Division with a rewarding career in arts management, working for national and regional arts organizations including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and 651Arts at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York City, NY; San Francisco Jazz Festival, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra and Brava Theater Center in San Francisco, CA; and ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale. Notably she has also worked with the creative directors for the Broadway tour and Tony award-winning musical FELA!, and music artists Michelle Williams and Ke$ha, among others.

Dawn Robinson Danse du FeuFor more than 18 years, she has provided excellence from the west coast to the east coast in event planning, development, marketing and customer service. With her various capacities of arts management in human resources, finance, box office, tour and project development her experience in this particular field is a dynamic and fully-rounded portfolio.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Robinson also has a long history in the performing arts as a choreographer and dancer.  In Dallas she began her performance career with her studies at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She holds a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. Thereafter, in San Francisco she performed with Della Davidson Dance, Dance Repertory San Francisco, Liss Fain Dance, Company Chaddick, the hip hop dance company SoulForce, and many others. In New York City she performed with Nia Love/Blacksmith’s Daughter, Nicholas Leichter Dance (NLD) and Organic Magnetics. She has toured internationally to the American Arts Exchange Festival in Adelaide, Australia, Freedance Festival in the Ukraine and Dialogue de Corps Festival in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Africa. As a choreographer her work has brought her to the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Scandinavia, Italy, Croatia and Greece.
