Jane Haskell

Biography

Jane Haskell received her BFA from Skidmore College and earned a Masters in Art History from the University of Pittsburgh.  Jane taught Art History for 10 years at Duquesne University while continuing her creative work.  Then in the late 1970's Jane began to work in fluorescent light and neon.  Through this process she developed a strong relationship between neon light and the painted surface.  Jane's work is included in the collections of the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh PA, Mead Art Museum, Amherst College, Amherst, MA; Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI; Museum of Neon Art, Los Angeles, CA, and Westmoreland Museum of Art Greensburg, PA.  In 2006 Jane Haskell was named Artist of the Year by the Pittsburg Center for the Arts.
