Time-lapse cinematography is a technique where each film frame is captured at a rate much slower than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster. The processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, such as motion in the sky, crowd, or traffic moving, becomes very pronounced. The effect of photographing a subject that changes imperceptibly slowly, is to create a smooth impression of motion. A subject that is changing quickly already is transformed into an onslaught of activity. Time lapse images create in the viewer an almost magical different perspective of ordinary life. The artist focuses on several locations around Broward County, including the Hillsboro Lighthouse at Pompano Beach, Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, the Winterfest Boat Parade, and the County’s beaches.
