The Broward Cultural Council invites professional Broward County artists to apply for rotating exhibition opportunities at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s Lee Wagener Art Gallery located in Terminal 2 - Departures Level.
This gallery program offers Broward County artists an excellent opportunity to exhibit their work in a prominent, high-traffic area in Terminal 2 that is accessible to the general public. Artworks demonstrating high artistic quality that appeal to and are appropriate for a diverse audience are encouraged. Artists selected will be required to provide artworks for one (1) exhibition for 18 running feet of wall space on both sides of the gallery, for a total of 36 feet of wall space. Each exhibition will run for three (3) months.
Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $500 upon the conclusion of their exhibition and submission of a proper invoice.

The Duane Hanson Allied Artist Award Program was established in 1994 to honor internationally recognized artist Duane Hanson, who resided in this community and who was instrumental in encouraging the careers of Broward artists. Mr. Hanson served for many years as a member of the Public Art and Design Committee.
The purpose of the Award Program is to provide local artists the opportunity to assist experienced artists commissioned for major projects of $50,000 or more by the Public Art and Design Program, in order to gain the technical and administrative expertise needed to compete within the field of public art. Allied Artists are matched up with commissioned artists based on their level of experience, artistic medium and general interests. Pre-qualified artists who are chosen for a specific project will be compensated for their service as an Allied Artist.
The responsibilities of Allied Artists include, but are not limited to, coordinating and attending community and agency meetings; conducting research regarding materials, design issues, and building codes; assisting in the coordination and installation of artworks; writing reports, and any other duties requested by the commissioned artist that relate to the design, fabrication and installation of the artwork.
