This County-specific course focuses on the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to effectively document performance. It emphasizes that accurate documentation is critical whether it supports positive behaviors and actions or is needed for potential disciplinary actions. Writing strategies are introduced to connect informal written notes with possible formal documentation. Job aids will be provided to support the transfer of learning.

Managing Change

Adapted from the original Positive Start Change program, Managing Change helps new supervisors deal with daily workplace changes. Often decisions are made at the management level and supervisors are expected to implement the changes as a result of the decision. Since many employees resist change the supervisor is left with the challenge of getting employees on board quickly to move the change forward.

This workshop will introduce a three-step process for managing change and applying the change process to real work place situations.

The Many Sides of Motivation

The Many Sides of Motivation will introduce Maslow’s motivational theory and how it applies to the daily work environment. Supervisors will learn new strategies on how to provide recognition during difficult economic times. Most important, this program introduces a career cycle, known as the Job Doom Loop, which suggests how to coach employees throughout their different levels of job development. Even the marginal employee CAN BE motivated!
