Broward County Receives Grant of More than $1.1 Million to Assist Homeless Population

The Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership has been awarded a grant of more than $1.1 million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the 2012 HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Program.  The CoC program provides funding for transitional and permanent housing along with supportive services that combat some challenges contributing toward homelessness. The $1.1 million awarded to the Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership is part of more than $57 million in additional grants that HUD recently allocated nationwide to help local communities continue to address homelessness.  More...
