Broward County > Commission > District 1 - Martin David Kiar
Message from the Commissioner

My name is Martin David Kiar and I am your Broward County Commissioner for District 1. District 1 encompasses parts of Davie, Weston, Sunrise, Plantation, Lauderhill and Tamarac.

For the last six years, I have had the privilege of serving you in the Florida House of Representatives. It has been a tremendous honor to have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of the people of our great state. Although I have loved serving you in the Florida legislature, I am thrilled to have now been elected to the Broward County Commission.

As a lifetime resident of Broward County, I am committed to maintaining our unique way of life for all residents and future generations. We need to keep county property taxes low, improve our economy, ensure that we have the necessary services for our residents and continue to improve the community we all hold so dear to our hearts.

I am excited to have the opportunity to serve in a position close to home with my young and growing family and I look forward to working to make Broward County a great place to live, to work, to learn, to play and to retire. If I can ever be of assistance to you, then please contact me at anytime.

Kindest regards,
Martin David Kiar
