The staff of the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center held their Service Excellence Appreciation Event on February 21, Fat Tuesday! The room was filled with Mardi Gras decorations, and Louis Armstrong sang “When the Saints Go Marching In” as a video slideshow of staff members scrolled across the screen. After a barbecue lunch, awards were passed out by
Elaina Norlin, AARLCC executive director, and
Julie Hunter, Library administration. Then the games began, including Mardi Gras and Fabulous Forties on the Avenue exhibit trivia and a SUNsational phrase game. The planning committee for this event included
Indi Harrison, Christina Luce,
Audra Stone, Steve Vinik,
Rinata White and Richard Williamson. The event was sponsored by the Broward Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library, including the Friends of AARLCC.

On February 14, Valentine’s Day, Main Library’s front line staff members were treated to a Service Excellence Appreciation Event, courtesy of the Broward Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library.
