sun images  Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance Business Connect Breakfast May 31

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance/Broward County is hosting a special Alliance/Tower Club member breakfast featuring Port Everglades and a look at their latest capital plans on Friday, May 31, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Tower Club, 1 Financial Plaza, 100 S.E. Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Port Director Steve Cernak and his executive team will update Alliance members on key Port initiatives including the on-site cargo facility, berth expansion, terminal upgrades and improvements and harbor entrance dredging. Members must register to attend by Wednesday, May 29.

Business for the Arts of Broward announced that it has raised more than $96,000 in the first 90 days of the launch of its new website, power2give.org/broward. The new funding platform empowers donors to give directly to local arts and cultural projects that inspire them. Nonprofit organizations list needs for a specific project and viewers can help a project that interests them by making a donation. sun images  South Runway Construction Remains on Schedule

Expansion of the South Runway project remains on track at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Work continues on the 12 bridge structures over U.S. 1 and the Florida East Coast Railway. Crews are driving piles and pouring concrete to form the walls and columns. In June, workers will place beams across the walls to form the top of the structures. sun images  New Food Court Opens in Airport’s Terminal Three

Travelers at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) can now enjoy three new restaurants in Terminal 3 (Concourse F) just past the security checkpoint. sun images  Broward County Transit Service Adjustments Effective May 26

Effective Sunday, May 26, Broward County Transit (BCT) will make service adjustments on Routes 1, 14, 18, University Breeze, 595 Express Sunrise/Miami Brickell, 95 Express Miramar and 95 Express Pembroke Pines. Shuttle service will be added on Route 18 between Turtle Creek Drive and Sandalfoot Boulevard. The service adjustments are in response to passenger feedback. More…

Viva Florida 500, an initiative launched by the Florida Department of State and its partners, celebrates the 500th anniversary of Juan Ponce de Leon's arrival in Florida. The statewide, year long salute to the state's history celebrates Florida's rich heritage and diverse cultural history.
