NATURE OF WORK
This is audio-video tape production and technical training work.
Work involves the preparation of video tape for use in divisional training programs, lectures, demonstrations, and television commercials. Incumbents assist in planning, taping and editing the audio-visual aids portion of the training programs used by staff and field personnel in continuing education programs. Work also includes developing public relations materials and maintaining video tape equipment and cameras. Independent judgment is exercised in the development of production procedures. Completed assignments are reviewed for compliance with desired objectives.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Provides audio-video expertise in the planning and production of training films, demonstrations, commercials, and programs for public service television.
Prepares video tape of lectures, demonstrations, and programs for use by training and field personnel in continuing education programs.
Edits tape recordings; dubs recordings on smaller tapes for use in cassette tape recorders.
Performs maintenance on videotape equipment and cameras.
Assists in developing public relations materials including brochures and still photography.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of photography and the use and maintenance of video tape equipment.
Ability to plan and produce training materials, public service tapes, and television programs.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability or political affiliation.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from high school supplemented by audio video tape production course work; experience in audio video tape production work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
