Behavioral Health Funding

The following agencies have been funded for services to meet Behavioral Health needs in Fiscal Year 2012 ― October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012. Services may be delivered through more than one service location and/or funding agreement.  

Unless otherwise specified, services are for youth ages 0-17. Programs may also serve youth through age 21 if enrolled in an academically accredited program leading to a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Behavioral Health Services

Camelot Community Care, Inc.
Individual and family counseling and other supportive services for youth are offered through two programs for ages 6-17 and 2-17.

Center for Hearing and Communication 
Individual, family and group Counseling and other supportive services for youth with hearing impairments are offered through two programs:

  • Substance Abuse
  • Mental Health

Children's Home Society
Individual and family counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 4-17.

Covenant House Florida

  • Behavioral Health - Individual, family and group counseling and other supportive services for homeless or run-away youth ages 11-17 residing at Covenant House.
  • Residential Substance Abuse services and other supportive services for homeless or run-away youth ages 15-17.

Harmony Development Center, Inc.

  • Individual, family and group counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 9-17, who have come into contact with the Juvenile Justice system, focusing on the Miramar, North and Northwest areas of Broward.
  • Individual, family and group counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 10-17, who are transitioning from alternative education centers back to their home schools.

Henderson Mental Health Center
Behavioral Health: Case Management

  • General case management and other supportive services for youth ages 0-17 and their families in need of behavioral health services planning and monitoring.
  • Wraparound case management and other supportive services for ages 11-17 and their families in need of intensive behavioral health services planning and monitoring.

Behavioral Health: Mental Health

  • Four programs providing individual, family and group counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, behavior modification, peer counseling and other supportive services for ages 2-17, as well as programs to prevent psychiatric hospitalizations/residential placements and/or re-occurrence of same.

Behavioral Health: Dual Diagnosis

  • A comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse services for youth ages 11-17 diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorder.

Kids In Distress

  • Two programs for individual and family counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 2-17.

Mental Health Association of Broward County

  • Peer counseling and other supportive services for families or caregivers with children experiencing mental health issues.

Broward County Public Schools

  • Countywide family counseling program services, including individual, family and group counseling and other supportive services for youth from pre-school to 12th grade in 13 community school locations.

South Broward Hospital District (Memorial Healthcare System)

  • Substance abuse counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 12-17 who are abusing drugs and alcohol.

Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, Inc.

  • Individual and family counseling and other supportive services for children and youth ages 2-17.

Individual, family and group counseling and other supportive services for youth ages 11-17. Three programs are available focusing on:

  • Mental Health
