Notice: After January 1, 2012, a $1 fee will be charged to your library card account for any library materials placed on hold and not picked up. The Libraries Division will continue to send notices by e-mail and phone when special request items are ready for pickup. If a phone number is not local, the customer will not receive calls and should set up an e-mail account to receive notification. Holds, once delivered to the pick-up branch, are held for five working days (holidays or days when the library is closed aren’t counted). After the sixth day, if the item has not been picked up, a $1 fee will be charged and the item will be processed for the next customer in the holds queue. Customers may call the library to receive an extension or to suspend holds that have not reached the holds shelf. Additionally, a family member may pick up holds on behalf of a customer, provided that they have the library card and can verify the PIN number associated with the card. Customers may also use BCL WoW, our free mobile app, to check the status of a hold, place a hold, suspend a hold, or contact us about a hold. Please take a moment to follow this link and update your e-mail and phone number or if your contact information has recently changed, please visit your nearest Broward County Library and the Circulation staff will be happy to assist you.
