This Mother's Day, enjoy fun, free events for the whole family at Broward County Library! Catch a Mom's Day movie, listen to a choral performance or attend a Mother's Day Tea - everyone from toddlers to teens (and grown-ups, too!) can join in the fun. Here's what's happening:

May 3 - Mother’s Day Movie, children and families, 2 to 3 p.m., Imperial Point Library
May 3 - Women of Note: A Capella Chorus, 2 to 3 p.m., Northwest Regional Library
May 6 - Storytime Fun, 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Carver Ranches Library
May 7 - 3rd Annual Pretty in Pink Mother’s Day Tea Party, $5 donation; RSVP: 954-357-7670, 6 to 7 p.m., Jan Moran Collier City Learning Library
May 7 - Bead Jewelry Workshop, ages 13 and up, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sunrise Dan Pearl Library
May 10 - Southwest Regional Library's 9th Annual Mother’s Day Tea Party! Join us for an interactive musical Bee Bop Buddies Music and refreshments, ages 1-6, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Southwest Regional Library

Each May, Broward County Library celebrates Older Americans Month - a way to recognize older Americans for their contributions and provide them with information to help them stay healthy and active. Older Americans are productive, active and influential members of society and Older Americans Month is the time to celebrate their vitality with great, free events at Broward County Library.

May 13
- Know the Ten Signs of Alzheimer's Disease, 2 to 3 p.m., Main Library
May 15 - How Senior Centers Enhance Quality of Life for Older Adults, presented by Althia Ellis, M.P.A., 1 to 2 p.m., Main Library
May 16 - 1000 Places to See Before You Die, book talk with author Patricia Schultz, 12 noon to 1 p.m., Main Library
May 21 - Reel to Real Talk: Film Forum with Commentary by Shelly Isaacs, film in honor of Older Americans Month; historical drama in Mandarin w/ English subtitles. Call library for title: 954-357-7990. 2 to 4:30 p.m., Northwest Regional Library

Community Vision Sessions with Broward County Library Director Skye Patrick: Learn More About Your Library, Meet the Director and Discuss Your Views

Skye Patrick, Broward County Library DirectorBroward County Library will host a series of upcoming meetings to present the Library’s "Vision for the Future and Community," and for library administration to meet the public and to hear the concerns of each region. Each session will include a PowerPoint presentation and Q&A session. All Community Vision Sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
