Wi-Fi is available in the meeting room.
This 5.06-acre neighborhood park opened in November 2007. There is a 4,500-square-foot community center with an assembly hall (capacity 125), a game room, a warming kitchen, a computer lab, and park offices. The patio out back features full-size rocking chairs where parents can relax and watch their children play. Amplified music is allowed only inside the community center.
Other park amenities include:
-
three playground areas (one covered)
-
two full-court basketball courts with lighting and bench seating
-
three picnic shelters (two with grills)
A concrete pathway around the park is for walking, skating, or strolling. The park also offers a free after-school program and a summer recreation program for neighborhood children ages 6 to 15.
The park is home to a Public Art and Design project by artist Cheryl Foster, who created a multi-piece artwork with panels located in the park's computer room and the lobby of the community center. The art takes the form of a series of tableaux that illustrated such themes as education, family values, diversity, sharing, learning, parents teaching and sharing with children, and strong male presence. The paintings are displayed above eye level and appear to float on the walls.
