EcoAction Workday
- Saturday, June 8, 9 a.m. Volunteers clean up trash, plant native plants, and/or remove non-native invasive plants. Students can earn community service hours for graduation and college scholarships, and others can help improve and preserve the environment. Volunteers should dress appropriately with long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty. Participants should bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water. Extra tools such as shovels, rakes, and hand pruners are welcome. A volunteer form must be filled out in order to participate. Free.
Shells and Claws - Sunday, June 16, 2 p.m. We are shelling out the fun at Secret Woods Scuttle over for crafts and activities, learn about our native crustaceans, and claw around our boardwalk to view them in their natural habitat. Free and for all ages.
Wonderful Reptiles - Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m. Meet some of the native reptiles that call South Florida and Secret Woods home. Free.
Krafting With Kay - Sunday, June 23, 2 p.m. Experience traditional crafts in nontraditional ways with this hands-on crafting workshop for ages 9 and up. Preregistration is required, and there is a $2 donation to the Friends of Secret Woods volunteer group requested.
Jamming in the Park - Sunday, June 23, 1 p.m. Bring your favorite instrument and join in an acoustic music jam. Free.

Volunteers Needed!
Learn about photography, painting, recycling, plants, and nature as you volunteer to help at our special events. Hike our trails and pick up litter, plant native trees, remove exotic plants, or maintain our geocaches and letterboxes. Feeling crafty? Design and create signs, decorations, and games for our upcoming programs. Need community service hours to graduate? We'll customize a program tailored to your interests and schedule. Contact the Friends of Secret Woods at swvolunteers@npsbroward.org or call Molly at 954-357-8884.
