Educational Farm and Birthday Programs
Tradewinds Park, Coconut Creek
All ages, by appointment only.
Classes are hands-on enrichment programs about farm animals. The instructors are experienced and offer a range of programs for children from preschoolers through middle school students. 
Cost is $6 per child with one teacher and two chaperones admitted free per class.

Each tour is specifically designed to provide a variety of educational experiences, such as hands-on involvement with the barnyard animals, a walk through the Tradewinds farm house museum, a visit to the windmill, a lesson on animal nutrition, a walk through a cypress wetland, and much more.

All field trips and birthday parties should be reserved in advance. Call Tradewinds Stables at 954-357-8720 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or e-mail twfarmtours@comcast.net for reservations. Pony rides and hayrides can be combinated with farm tours, although reservations must be made separately.  

Zumba Classes
Broward County Parks and Recreation Division and KO Fitness are now offering weekday Zumba Classes, for adults and children, at five parks located throughout the county. The Zumba phenomenon dates back to the 1990s, when dancer/choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez combined elements of dance and aerobics to create a new form of fitness and exercise. Zumba combines movements from such diverse sources as hip hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, and belly dancing, as well as martial arts. Wikipedia estimates that 12 million people take weekly Zumba classes in more than 125 countries worldwide.

No partner or dance experience is required for Zumba. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable workout clothes and nonmarking athletic shoes (running shoes are not recommended), and to bring a towel and a bottle of drinking water.
