Notice! Foreclosure Sales/Certificate of Title Recording Fees

Effective, June 15, 2012, in addition to the payment of documentary stamps taxes, Certificate of Title customers will also be required to pay the applicable recording fees ($10.00 for the first page and $8.50 for each subsequent page) to have the certificate of title recorded. When mailing, include recording fees in the doc stamp tax payment, as payments without the recording fees included will be rejected and returned. More...

We wanted to make you aware of the following announcement from the Florida Department of Revenue. This tax information is extremely important to anyone submitting documents to Broward County, Records Taxes and Treasury Division, Official Records Department for recordation. Keep in mind that the Official Records Department will not record a document without the proper payment of taxes.

The Florida Department of Revenue Tax Information Publication (TIP) 12B04-01 Florida Documentary Stamp Tax Laws Concerning Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA) and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Company (FHLMC), dated May 10, 2012, has been posted to the DOR Internet site.

Disabled Parking Permit Requirements to Change

If you have a blue permanent disabled parking permit, you need to be aware of the new requirements put in place by Florida lawmakers. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will implement the new law.

Effective Oct. 1, any person issued a blue permanent disabled parking permit must renew the permit every four years and, when doing so, provide a certificate of disability completed and signed by a certifying authority within the last 12 months. More
