Adopt-A-Street Celebrates 16th Anniversary
and Going Strong!
Adopt-A-Street was implemented in 1995 as a
volunteer litter removal program for Broward County. The
unincorporated areas of Broward County were the only areas that had
the program until 2003, at which time it became available
countywide. Since then, 20 cities have joined, and hundreds of groups have helped remove litter from sections of roadways they adopted. The program currently covers more than 220 streets and encompasses about 180 miles of city and county roadways.
