Yard Waste and 4/50 Collection Guidelines
Broward County > Solid Waste And Recycling Services > Unincorporated > Yard Waste and 4/50 Collection Guidelines

Yard waste will be collected on your bulky waste collection days only. Follow these guidelines to ensure collection.

Note: These items will be collected on your bulky waste collection day only.

  • Loose material such as grass clippings, leaves, etc. must be placed your green garbage cart for regular pick up or in a tied plastic garbage bag for bulky waste collection.
  • Bags must weigh less than 50 pounds when full.
  • Cut and bundle tree trimmings, branches, palm fronds, etc. Bundles must not exceed 4 feet in length and 50 pounds in weight (4/50 Rule).
  • Tree trunks, logs and large limbs too big to be bundled, must be cut smaller than 4 feet and weigh less than 50 pounds. Items must be stacked neatly at the curb.
  • Keep yard waste separated from regular bulky waste items for easier collection.
  • Stack yard waste in orderly piles on the swale (away from mailboxes, trees, fire hydrants, storm drains and other bulky waste piles).
  • Remember, the (4/50 Rule) applies to items placed out for bulky waste collections.
