Courthouse Tower Exterior is Complete​

View of the New CourthouseThe Broward County Courthouse continues towards completion at a rapid pace. Approximately sixty-five percent of construction is complete. The exterior precast panels have been installed and window installation is near completion. Electrical, mechanical and plumbing work is ongoing and up to the 19th floor. Chillers and cooling towers have been installed at the penthouse. Meanwhile, interior finishes work is ongoing up to the eleventh floor and Atrium escalators are installed. The second deck has been installed at the elevated bridges while the project’s Tower Cranes have been demobilized. Installation of roofing has begun on floors three, six and twenty-one and will take a few months to complete. The new courthouse tower is scheduled to open summer 2015.

County Opens New Judicial Complex South Parking Garage

Officials marked an important milestone in the construction of Broward County's new courthouse by conducting a ceremonial ribbon cutting marking the completion of the Judicial Complex South Parking Garage, a courthouse employee garage located at the corner of Andrews Avenue and Seventh Street Southeast in Fort Lauderdale. The garage will eventually accomodate up to 1,000 Broward County Employees who will be working in the new courthouse, which is under construction next door and on schedule to open in Summer 2015. Courthouse is Mayor’s “Broward Means Business” Moment

Broward County's new courthouse was featured in Mayor Barbara Sharief's "Broward Means Business" Moment at a recent County Commission meeting. The 714,000 square foot structure is one of the largest courthouses in the U.S. The $220 million project has generated 2,400 jobs.
